The photographer took pictures of people at the festival before and after she kissed them.

Most of the people this year came to the Roskilde festival in Denmark to relax, enjoy the music and atmosphere. But photographer Joanna Sayring had another idea. She wanted to capture the free spirit at the festival. So she came up with a project in which she made portraits of strangers before and after she kissed them.

The photographer approached the person, regardless of gender and race, to make the first portrait, then explained the idea and asked him for a kiss. Surprisingly, it made people drop their masks and become themselves. Joanna explains this by saying that the kiss stimulates all the nerve endings in the lips, releases dopamine and oxytocin, and also establishes an immediate emotional connection between people.

The Norwegian artist called this series of photographs “The Stranger's Kiss”. The author of the project herself admits that with her help she wants to show people how easily we can begin to communicate with new people.
