The area of ​​Chilean fires exceeded 240 thousand square meters. According to the authorities, some sources of fire could have been caused by people.

A terrible element took the lives of 11 people, about 10 thousand local residents were evacuated from the disaster area, hundreds of hectares of forest burned out.

One of the settlements that got the most was the city of Santa Olga. Before the fire, 6 thousand people lived here, and now there is almost nothing left, just a charred ashes. The fire destroyed more than a thousand homes.

With the fire element fought for almost 2 weeks. And just literally the other day, the Chilean authorities canceled the emergency regime.

It was possible to cope with the rampant flame thanks to the help of other countries. Russia also supported the elimination of large-scale forest fires. To help the Chilean residents, our country sent an Il-76 Ministry of Emergency Situations aircraft.
