Rotorua in New Zealand: the sacred Maori Valley with amazing boiling lakes

Lake "Champagne Pool"

The valley abounds with unusual sights with original names. Here, for example, there is a lake "Artist's Palette", which you can admire endlessly. Shades of green are replaced by yellow and orange, and steam rising above the water surface enhances the feeling of magic. This is truly a bewitching sight, although you do not want to plunge into this chemical cocktail of sulfur and iron compounds. Another interesting natural feature of the boiling valley is the Champagne Pool Lake, filled with soaring water with millions of gas bubbles rising from the depths. But perhaps the most impressive is a pond called the Devil’s Bath, filled with a bright green solution.

Geyser Pohutu There are small villages in the Rotorua Valley, and people live right near geothermal springs. One of the lakes of the Rotorua Valley
