From the first selfie to the first Instagram post: 16 very first photos in history
The concept of "photography" appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century, however, attempts to create a device that can save a moment have been made since the 4th century BC. e. The earliest photographs appeared thanks to the invention created by Louis Daguerr, named after him - daguerreotype. And now, almost two hundred years of technical inventions - and modern photographers have endless possibilities for work. Let's look at the very first photographs, which became a kind of starting point for various photo devices and changed our view of the universe.
1826/1827 - the very first photograph in history (or the first one preserved): a view from the window of the estate of the French inventor N. Niepce. Frame made using heliography.
1837 - the first still life.
1839 - the first self-portrait: today you will not surprise anyone with a selfie, but for the first time the self-portrait was taken by American Robert Cornelius, one of the founders of photography. For this shot, the man had to sit still for more than a minute.
1839 - the first shot with people: the shot belongs to Louis Daguerre - this is the first shot of Paris, as well as the first photo where there is a person. On daguerreotypes, most often there are no strangers: after all, it took a lot of time for one frame.
1840 - the first photograph of the moon: the daguerreotype of the American scientist D.W. Draper, created at the observatory, which was on the roof of the university in New York.
1843 - the first photo in the history of the head of the country: this is John Quincy Adams, however, then he no longer served as president of America.
1845 - the very first frame on which the sun is photographed.
1848 - New York, the oldest surviving photo.
1860 - first bird's eye view: Boston
1861 - the first shot in color, on which it was possible to capture the tape from the "plaid".
1870 - the first photograph of the war: the Frenchman Carol de Shatmari was the first photographer who shot military operations. And this is the attack of the Prussian troops, the first photo of a real battle.
1884 - captured for the first time tornado from a Kansas amateur photographer.
1926 - the first photograph underwater in color, for which the National Geographic photographer placed the camera in a case made of waterproof material.
1957 - the first digital photo depicting the child of a US engineer Russell Kirsch.
August 23, 1966 - the first image of the Earth from our satellite: photo from a lunar rover.
July 16, 2010 - first Instagram post: Kevin Systrom, the true Instagram CEO, posted his first post capturing his dog. True, then Instagram was known in narrow circles under the name Codename, and only a few months later the program turned into what we know and love now.
