Strange, unforgettable sculptures made from river stones in Japan

Sculptures made of river stones by Japanese artist Hirotoshi Ito are something unimaginable. He literally animates completely dead stones, and even the most stubborn material in his hands becomes unique.

Ito turns stones into crowded wallets, grotesque smiling mouths and sprouting gardens. His work is surreal and incredibly impressive, and the stones seem soft and supple.
