The best time to travel: what Venice looks like in a non-tourist season

The Divine Venice is a magnificent heritage of the 15th century, an Italian pearl, which many travelers seek to see. Especially considering the fact that the city is gradually going under water. This problem arose among the ancient settlers, who as a result had to rebuild the city several times, moving to higher islands. The main reason for what is happening is considered to be the industrial withdrawal of water from artesian wells, due to which the aquifer of the earth decreases.

However, do not worry too much and rush to enjoy the romantic corner of Europe until it is gone. In 2003, a project was launched to save the city. It was developed by MOSE and involves the construction of airtight barriers around Venice. So set aside the panic! Better take a look at photographs of Italian Claudia Corrent, taken during the off-season season and included in a series called Insulae. See how the marvelous city is transformed without crowding tourists, how quiet and peaceful it becomes among the buildings of pastel colors and blue-green water. Surely such a Venice you have not seen.
