Honokokhau waterfall - prehistoric landscapes of the dinosaur era, existing today

Hawaiian islands are chosen by tourists for a long time and firmly. Here and wonderful beaches, and amazing nature, and many various attractions. But there is, among other things, a very special place - the waterfall and its surroundings on the island of Maui, hidden from the eyes of travelers due to its inaccessibility.

The two-tier Honokohau Falls flowing from the top of an extinct volcano is the highest and inaccessible on the island. It is located in an area so impassable that you can only get there by helicopter.

Therefore, nature here is untouched and pristine.

And the microclimate features contribute to the spread of "prehistoric" vegetation - lichens, ferns, pluns. That is why many tourists dream of visiting here to plunge into the pristine world of the Hawaiian Islands.

In addition to Honokokhau, many streams flow down the slope; during the rainy season they become powerful and full-flowing. The mass of water flowing down a steep cliff causes a stable association, therefore the place was called the “Wall of Tears”.

The waterfall and its surroundings gained worldwide fame after the film "Jurassic Park" was released - many scenes of the film were shot against the backdrop of an "ancient" landscape and magnificent waterfalls.
