The French presented the augmented reality room

The French company THÉORIZ Studio introduced a new project: a room of augmented virtual reality. As the developers assure, with all the objects that will arise in the room, it will be possible to interact.

Do not touch

Today, there are two virtual reality technologies. The first is a virtual helmet and controllers that simulate human actions in virtual space. The second is the projection of 3D virtual 3D images, which, however, remain just a beautiful picture, since touching them is useless.

THÉORIZ Studio combined these two technologies, creating a room on the walls and floor of which virtual objects are displayed using special projectors. Moreover, you can interact with these objects without putting on bulky helmets and gloves. The secret is in a special HTC Vive system: beacons read a person’s movements and adapt 3D images to his actions. Therefore, there is a complete feeling that it is the objects themselves that respond to touch.

Which side to look

According to the developers, this video shows the second test of a virtual room, and the video wasn’t further processed. The peculiarity of 3D images today is that the effect of volume arises only when viewed from a certain point.

In this, the technology so far resembles the famous 3D graffiti: if you move a little away from the desired point, and the image becomes distorted.

Therefore, in the video, apparently, the point of view is biased towards the person who filmed the whole process. So the Matrix is still far away. However, imagine what a person will experience in the center of such a room!
