In Kansas, built a village for homeless veterans, where they can live for free

The Kansas City Veterans Community is taking serious steps to improve the lives of war heroes in America. Thanks to the generous donations of members of the community, a village of veterans was built here - a series of small houses in which homeless veterans can live absolutely free.

The village consists of 50 individual houses, each the size of a one-room apartment. Residents are provided with food and essentials, as well as an invaluable sense of privacy, security and stability. In the nearby community center, which is still under construction, classes and consultations will be held to help veterans adapt to life and deal with injuries.

The Veterans Society itself describes itself as "veterans helping veterans." It leads many projects aimed at combating homelessness and neglect among veterans. Although this is not the first such project in the US, the concept of “tiny houses” makes the veteran village a unique and cost-effective place of refuge.

Each of the houses is a studio apartment, includes a full-size kitchen and a bathroom.

Homes are also provided with food and essentials, which are constantly replenished.

The community atmosphere in the village helps veterans feel less isolated.

Given proper care and socialization, they can adapt to life and deal with injuries sustained during service.

The construction of each such house takes about $ 10,000, which makes the village economically viable.

A similar village was built in 2013 in Olympia (Washington).
