Bicycle parking and lovely terraces: what the coolest hostel looks like

There is a toilet on the floor, one shower for the entire building, and then in the basement, 12 squares for three people, beds with a netting net and windows that need to be insulated every autumn. Sometimes you wonder how you can survive in such conditions in college. But not all hostels look like this. But on the Tietgen campus in Copenhagen, it is completely different, and the building is so steep that even the language does not dare to call it a "hostel", but rather a "student residence", not otherwise.

The building was built in the shape of a circle: it symbolizes unity and equality.

The seven-story building has 360 rooms, all of them are divided into sections.

Inside there is a courtyard with grass and green spaces, where students like to relax in the evenings. And these protruding squares in the building are shared kitchens.

The windows overlook either the courtyard or the outside of the building. The entire hostel is trimmed with red brass, oak and birch, which contrast with the concrete walls. Incredibly stylish and generally more like some kind of modern hotel than a hostel.

Remember your dorm kitchen? What was there? A barely working stove and sink, but if you're lucky - an old table. And here is the kitchen in Tietgen: there are 4 refrigerators, two stoves with glass ceramics and all the necessary utensils for cooking. Well, the highlight is the bright chairs.

Reading room, where there are many separate jobs.

A computer room in which there is all office equipment, from the printer to the scanner.

The dorm rooms are spacious with an average of 30 squares. There are rooms with a larger area - up to 45 squares. They live in couples. Each has its own separate bathroom and toilet, as well as a porch or small balcony.

On the ground floor there is a laundry room, mailboxes, an assembly hall.

And of course, parking for bicycles.

In the common corridor.

All sections are decorated in different styles: each has its own color scheme, which is repeated in everything from chairs to curtains on the windows.

Inside there is a sports hall where you can play basketball or table tennis, music rooms with drums and piano.

And here is the territory near the hostel.

This complex has been repeatedly called one of the best buildings for students, it has many awards.
