Queen of elephants: the photographer took a unique elephant F_MU1 before her death

Will Burrard-Lucas, a wildlife photographer, was incredibly lucky: he managed to take the latest photographs of one of the most unique animals on the planet - an elephant named F_MU1. Until her recent demise, she was one of the few surviving members of the African "giant tusks." So called elephants, whose tusks reach incredible sizes and touch the ground.

Burrard-Lucas, who was lucky enough to make the last portraits of F_MU1, says that she would certainly be called the queen of elephants if such a title existed in the animal kingdom.

The elephant died of old age, having lived a long and eventful life in Kenyan open spaces. For more than sixty years, fate has kept the majestic animal from accidents and treacherous poachers, who took the lives of many relatives of F_MU1. Researchers believe that the fact that the elephant survived to such a venerable age and died her death is a real miracle.

Will Burrard-Lucas recalls that, seeing F_MU1, he could not believe his eyes, she had such a stunning and magnificent appearance. He did not even imagine that such creatures really exist, so in the process of shooting he experienced real euphoria.
