The garbage challenge has become viral: people clean the planet and share their pictures

Hashtags and viral challenges are a common occurrence in modern pop culture, which often carries a purely entertaining function. But from time to time, truly useful actions arise on the network, the mass distribution of which affects the life of our planet in the best way. Today we are talking about such a case.

Every year, humanity produces 1.3 billion tons of household waste, of which only 258-368 million tons end up in one of the fifty largest landfills. A million tons of garbage goes straight to the oceans. 80% of this monstrous volume of waste is produced on the mainland. More recently, a new hashtag #trashtag has appeared on the web, representing the worldwide garbage disposal movement. Challenge is that people pre-photograph the location that needs to be cleaned, remove it, and then remove it in a comfortable manner. The fact that this flash mob made a splash in social networks cannot but rejoice. People from all over the world share their amazing shots before and after, inspiring hope that for us and future generations, not everything is lost.
