20 of the oldest and most amazing trees on Earth

We all know that trees can live for centuries. However, there are such instances on Earth whose age is thousands and thousands of years old. These giants are not only the oldest trees on our planet, but, in addition to everything, sometimes look extremely unusual and amazing.

San Francisco-based photographer Beth Moon has traveled the world for the past 14 years and taken truly breathtaking photographs of the most ancient trees. In search of particularly majestic specimens, she had to be in places far from civilization, which are undoubtedly no less curious than the branching giants in her photographs. Beth included the best shots in her book "Ancient Trees: Portraits of Time".

Looking at all these beautiful photos, it's hard to believe that Beth Moon is a self-taught photographer. She graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Wisconsin, but showed interest in photography a little later. At first she was a fashion designer of women's clothing, and as part of her work, every season she had to look for and hire new photographers, until one day Beth decided to do everything herself. And so began her love for photography.
