How to get there

Not sure how to get to Yerevan? It can be reached by air, which is the most common for tourists. You can also get there using buses and your own cars. For tourists from Russia, you need to cross 2 borders before getting to Yerevan.
This is the border of Russia with Georgia, and the border of Georgia with Armenia. The Upper Lars road, which often closes in winter, may be problematic. You can find out about the condition of the road on the official Lars forum on the Internet.

About 300 km from Georgia to Yerevan, it is almost 4 hours by car or bus. The second way to Yerevan is crossing the border with Iran, we do not recommend this option, since the road is very tiring with passes and mountains, and quite long compared to the first.

About 400 km from the Iranian border to Yerevan - 7-7.5 hours. The Iran-Armenia customs border operates around the clock. And in the first and second case, it is necessary to go through customs control. There is another, easier option - using the Tbilisi-Yerevan train, the cost of one ticket is 11.000 drams ($ 23).

And the big New Year tree will give you the feeling of a fairy tale. Particular attention is paid to decorating the Republic Square, it is here that the country's main tree stands. Areas. Where is better to live

Yerevan is divided into 12 districts:

  • Achapnyak
  • Arabkir
  • Avan
  • Davtashen
  • Erebuni
  • Kanaker-Zeytun
  • Center
  • Malatia-sebastia
  • Nork Marash
  • Nor nork
  • Nubarashen
  • Shengavit.

More convenient for temporary and permanent housing can be considered central districts.

  1. Central areas are considered - the Center and Arabkir. Of particular interest to tourists will be precisely the Central District. Here you can admire the view of modern architectural buildings, you can also see buildings with a more ancient history. Of course, shopping and entertainment centers are not far behind. The district includes the central part of the city.
  2. Achapnyak is located on the right bank of the Hrazdan River. The main streets of the district are Shinararneri Street, Alabyan Street and Makaryan Street.
  3. Arabkir is one of the largest and most prosperous districts of the capital. Arabkir is located in the eastern part of Yerevan.
  4. Davitashen is located on the right bank of the Hrazdan River. It is in this district that the famous Cilicia Bridge is located.
  5. Avan is the northeastern part of the city.
  6. Erebuni is the southeastern part of the city.
  7. There are 12 historical and cultural monuments in the Nork Marash district.
  8. Nor-Nork can also be considered the central district, here is the highest point of the city.
  9. Kanaker Zeytun is located in the northwestern part of the city.
  10. There are many historical monuments in the districts of Nubarashen and Shengavit.

On the map, the center circles are outlined in light green and green. As shown on the map, closer to the center are Kanaker-Zeytun - outlined in pink, Nork - in blue, Achapnyak - in lilac, Malatia-Sebastia - in red, Nork - Marash - in dark green.

Central areas are convenient in that everything is in proximity, but for budget tourists this is not the best option. In this part of the city, hotels and temporary accommodation are more expensive than in other areas of the city. Lower housing prices are possible in the areas of Avan, Kanaker-Zeytun and Malatia-Sebastia. These areas are also convenient in that they are closer to the center.
